I am in the middle of a difficult writing project, and in order to go on I need to look forward to a treat when it is finished (like buying another pen!). A Sailor 1911M or a Columbus Scriba Oro are candidates: how are the nibs on these pens in terms of inkflow? I am not a big fan of dry-writing pens, and I also am not someone who takes advantage of flex nibs. Any advice from owners of these pens would be greatly appreciated.

I prefer Sailor nibs than Columbus. IMHO the best Columbus nib was the Yamazaki's.

I have Sailor pens in various nib sizes -- three 1911Ms (F nib, B nib, and a music nib) and three Magellans (XF nib, M nib, B nib that was reground to cursive italic by Richard Binder). I also have a Columbus Academia with the Yamazaki nib.

The Columbus Yamazaki nib was a F nib that was reground to a stub italic by Richard. Before Richard reground the Columbus nib, it was a hard-starter and dry-writer -- which is why I asked Richard to reground it to a stub and adjusted for proper flow.

All the Sailor nibs, with the exception of the music nib, have been flawless out of the box. So I would recommend a Sailor pen.

Thank you very much for the feedback on these pens. I think I will get the Sailor 1911M with a broad nib, as I rather use European or American medium size nibs.
