Would you do me a favor and post a well-lit picture of the inside of the cap of your pen? I need to do a little comparison.
The more pictures, the better.
I've got a pen that won't post, and I can almost make out the shape of a retaining band that's missing. I need to figure out what it looks like so I can dummy something up to make this pen useful.
Thanks!
*One stipulation - modern Conklin Ohio only, please!

rroossinck,
I've got a few Conklin's, all newer. Will gladly take a few photos. Which would you like?
Symetric, Nozac, Ohio, Mark Twain signature...
Let me know and give me a day.

Jay, thanks so much! I need to look 'em over a little more thoroughly, but I might have seen what I needed to see. Does your Ohio post well? I presume that it's the faceted model like the rest of them, correct? Is there anything in that cap towards the threading that might reach out and grab the barrel? Mine seems like it's just a little bit weak, and the cap rattles around on the barrel. I love the pen, but before I feel comfortable taking it out and about, I want to make sure that I don't lose the two. The blue/white marbled version is one of my very favorite designs EVER, and I don't want to have to search to find another one!
However, since you offered...take some pictures of the rest of the lineup!
And yes, Dave, I'm a sucker for Conklins...even found a couple more of the sprint run of Mark Twains that they did for Levenger - in Ocean Blue! It took some time and patience (and postage to NJ) to get the problem corrected, but they're terrific! I need to take some pictures of 'em and post them up, but they're awful nice writers.
I did get your PM...I owe you a letter. PM me a snail mail address and I'll get workin' on it.
Best,
Ryan
BTW - Strunkl, I know you've been having problems at the other end of your pen, but if you get the chance, drop me a line and let me know if yours is posting properly. Thanks! Pinarello, if you'd chime in with your experience, I'd appreciate it too!

Ryan,
I have 2 Ohio's (Cobalt Blue and Sandstone, both faceted) and both post well. There seems to be a slight taper of the pen barrel that creates a friction fit along with a (plastic?) cylindrical stop at the end of the cap. I ran the tip of a dental cleaning tool lightly over the inside of the cap and it is a rough surface. Doesn't appear groved, just rough material.
I am not seeing anything obvious in the cap towards the threading other than the threading continues up to the roughness I just described.
I've tried switching my Cobalt Blue and Sandstone and both work well with each other so the dimensions are the same.
If it would help I can wrap up my Sandstone and send it to you for a test. It's not part of my regular rotation so I won't miss it for a week or so. Also, check out www.worldlux.com. They are clearing out Ohio's. The Blue is on sale for $99
Thanks!

Jay, thanks for your offer. I talked with the folks at Conklin and they're going to fix it for me. So...it's on its way out there right now. Hope to have it back soon, b/c I love this pen!
