I had a very similar experience. Chartpak received an S800 that was leaking because the section had become unglued on a Monday, and I had the pen back on Friday.

I also had to send my cap back because it had those tiny cracks inside. I didn't send the pen because I love the pen and didn't want to take the chance that I wouldn't get the same one back. They had me insure the CAP for $100.00...can you imagine? I also got the new cap in a matter of days.
