Hello,
My mother last week told me my (diseased) Grandfather had left a nice pencil and that I would the most appropriate person to receive it, however she didn't want to leave me any details. I went to her place to fix her computer as usual, and before leaving, she gave me a nice little box. In original Wahl Eversharp box, there were instruction on how to operate the pencil and a nice gold wahl eversharp made in canada pencil. There is an engraving of my grandfather initial on the pen, but that just makes it more previous for me. I'll post picture this week.
My little Wahl story of the week.

Great story! Can't wait to see the pictures! It would be great to get heirlooms like that. My folks moved so much that they kept very little from their young days. Congratulations on a wonderful keepsake!

Oh, that's such a nice keepsake! Those gold-filled Wahl pencils are very nice and are quite affordable (if someone is looking for one on eBay). Your pencil, though, is precious, Cloud! I'm looking forward to seeing a photo of it

Thank you for posting the pictures! Oh and you have the official instructions for filling Wahl fountain pens, too---super!
Sorry, I can't help you with your lead width question; I will leave that to Syd or someone more knowledgeable about such things...

It's the perfect match for my filofax. It's slips right in the pen/pencil holder.

Hello Cloud,
It should be 1.1 mm lead. A great pencil and an even better story. Several years ago I had a similar experience at my grandparent's house. My dad had mentioned that we had a few of their older pens, and my grandfather who was not well all of a sudden darted out into another room and came back in with a chocolate box full of pieces. Most were low end pencils and ballpoints, but the others were a few nice pieces that were either pens or pencils to match the other ones we already had. It was great to have the sets, as well as a few odd pens, and while none of them are prize pieces they will remain prize pieces for us and stay within the family!
Pearce.
