Full Version: Aurora blueblackpurple!

Well, I've said a few times that Aurora blue has a bit too much purple in it for my taste, yet it is a lovely flowing ink. So, last night, having finally summoned up the courage, I took a small syringe, a bottle of Pelikan black and my nearly full bottle of Aurora blue and added almost 2ml of black to nearly 40ml of blue, put the cap back on, shook the bottle, filled a pen and wrote.

Oooh, lovely rolleyes.gif

A dark bluishpurplyblack that might be called nighttime or auborgine.

I have a nice colour that I will now use, but I'm glad I didn't put too much black in at once, as it would have overpowered the other colours.

Any particualar reason why you chose Pelikan Black instead of Aurora Black to add to the Aurora Blue?
Chris
Funny, I thought I'd posted a reply to CharlieB but it is not here.

Anyway, I chose Pelikan for the simple and boring reason that it was the best black black I had as I don't have any Aurora Black.

careful with mixing the Aurora's-I think it was PinarelloOnly who did this and while he liked the colours at first I think it may have started clogging his pen...

I'll have to watch then - I put some Aurora Black into my Waterman green and made a nice dark green. Comparable to PR Sherwood, without the slow drying problem.
Shelley
I think he said it took a while before the problem occured, so as long as you do not leave it in there for too long...
