You know that feeling.

You've just turned something. Things went right.
Your skew oozed along taking shavings so fine you could see through them.
Because you honed your edge to mirror sharp there was no sanding, just a gentle buff with a handful of shavings.
Wonderful.

Wife says "Ooooh lovely"
Family and friends step back in amazement.
Your head swells up with pride.

'fess up folks - it happens to us all biggrin.gif

The cure (in my own case) is simple:

Have a browse through the thumbnails here

Head shrinks back to normal size immediately biggrin.gif

I can then go back to saying - "I'm a decent turner. I like what I do, but I'm still learning".

Great therapy biggrin.gif

Huh!

But they have no pen pictures. Might not be a cure for every penaholic

I have an easier "cure"
Most turning sites have convinced me that pen"turners" are redheaded step children , at least that's how I feel when I visit them.
I decided not to put myself in their same class.
I am not a "turner" I don't make bowls.
The lathe is nothing more than one of the tools I use to craft pens.
Once I came to that epiphany it was real easy, and no pressure.
I am a pencrafter.
