Doug, what do you think of the drying time? Any problems with feathering? I really like the color and it is very tempting.....
Hmmm. I'm not sure about drying time because I'm "drying time insensitive," but I believe Swishmixes are supposed to be faster drying than others. As far as feathering -- not a bit on the HP premium or Crane's, but I realize one must sometimes use the paper that the office requires you to write on or at least some paper that you might have purchased by mistake. So it's a good question. Let's see, let me get some crappy paper and use some different inks (of known feathering qualities) and write a few lines with different inks to compare.
I really hate crappy paper because it makes me write as fast as I can for fear of leaving lines that look like mutant caterpillars, or creating a "China Syndrome" blot that will bore through the entire Earth. So although I may be putting humanity at risk, let me jot a few lines with different pens and inks, and as fast as I can to keep my nib from getting swallowed by the cellulose fibers:
Oh man, that was really gross. Let's take a close look so we can compare. First let's look at the first line which used a VP fine point loaded with my own mix of various bulletproof inks.
And here's the Swishmix Burgundy. This feathered a bit more, but it might be that the nib is a bit wetter. I'd call them about the same:
Black feathers least, although this paper is a true test of any anti-feathering claim:
So, after all that, I'd have to say that Swishmix Burgundy is about the same as other Noodler's bulletproofs. I guess the moral of the story is to avoid crappy paper. Boy, did I not enjoy doing this little experiment!
