Wow, I like the pen in the third photo, with the black and silver trim, that makes it a bit different.

This style is called the "Churchill". The wood is Amboyna Burl. I made this pen for myself. That lasted until a costomer was loong at my collection of 'for sale' pens and decided that the pen in my pocket was the one he needed to have. Soooo, away it went. crybaby.gif

One of these days I'll get the time to make myself another one rolleyes.gif

Dumb question - is the first a stabilized corn cob?? If so, how's it to turn?? Been thinking about making my dad another pen and looked at the CC - his first was a Cocoboo which he loves but, won't use for fear of losing it!?!? Just wondering.

First, I have to say "ditto" what Old Griz said. Then, Corn Cod is certainly easier to turn but takes a lot more patience than Cocobolo because of the difficulty in stabilizing and finishing.

How do you stabilize and finish a cod in a lathe? lticaptd.gif

Edited to say, "Sorry, Larry, but I had to do it... and by the way your pens are beautiful" smile.gif

What can I say, I had to send my Auto-Quill transcriber back to Merlin for a tune-up!
