I bought a breifcase at a garage sale this weekend, inside I found a Parker Frontier, with 5 cartridges, and a converter. It has a silver cap, goold clip, gold nib, and black section with a green, and black barrel.
Can anyone tell me if this current production? Or how long it has been since they were produced?
Thanks

Exactly. Are they current production, recent, or vintage?

Parker Frontiers biggrin.gif !

They are quite reliable and smooth writers. Often very wet too. They're modern and would take Parker cartridges and converters. Very lucky find indeed. The nib is gold plated.

Maybe you were meant to find this pen by fate laugh.gif

With that particular model, they're a slightly older generation methinks. Only recently Parker started a production of new Frontiers with different barrels and nib engravings. Nevertheless, I'm sure you can find that particular model on eBay and other shops as they're quite plentiful. According to a timeline at penhero.com, Frontiers started being produced in 1996.

Check the cap if it says "Made in UK" or "Made in USA". The USA ones are a bit older wink.gif (and tend to write finer too)

It is a discontinued FP, I think they have stopped it in 1998 but not absolutely sure, actually in Europe you can only find on the FRONTIER collection the stainless steel with gold or chrome trims, all the others colours have been discontinued, J.M.L.

Hmm I have one of these USA made Frontiers (haven't inked it yet), never knew it wrote finer than the UK made ones, thanks for the info!
