As the title says, the feed is not centered on my new CS Duro I just got last Thursday. Is there anything I can do to recenter it myself? I'm thinking I can just unscrew the nib and feed, reposition, screw back in. Yes? No?

I really don't want to tie the pen up for several weeks while it goes back to CS for a 10 second fix that I might be able to do at home.

Are you sure it needs centred? A fair number of my pens have feeds that look off centre, but they function perfectly. Moving the feed around could knock the tines out of alignment, althoguh a little mis-alignment can be quite easy to fix yourself.

Unfortunately, as to your orignial question, I don't know.

Yeah, it's not right. The feed sticks out quite a bit on one side, outside the nib. I have pens where it's "off" but not like this. It doesn't seem to hurt anything, functions fine. I'll end up sending it in I guess.

Many times you can center the feed yourself by gently rotating the nib. I've done it on a few pens. Perhaps one of the "gurus" can tell you specifically how to do it properly with minimal risk.

If it's a standard Bock nib unit, and I'm assuming it is, then one can pull the nib and feed right out of the collar and reset them quite easily by gently pushing them back in. No need to unscrew the actual collar from the section. Good luck. Best,

My Shaeffer 500 had the same problem, along with twisted tines. I thought it was going to be a big job to sort it out, but surprisingly little force was required to realign the nib with the feed.

It's worth trying.

Dave.

PS: And I mean "force" in the scientific sense, not as a measure of how much I needed to abuse the nib to get it to comply.

IF the pen is a new production CS then it is under warranty and should be sent back to CS... playing with the nib and feed and possibly harming it will void the warranty....
Let CS do it....
