Fountain pens - 146, Nickel Steel Noblesse from the 1970s (original Noblesse design - a $25 pen)
Ballpoints - three of the lever ballpoints, one with gold top; one Noblesse nickel steel slimline, original design; one of the classic style ballpoints from the 80s
Gone but not forgotten - a ballpix ballpoint; two steel Quickpens; brushed chrome Noblesse v.2 ballpoint
All good pens - I love the Noblesse steel FP the best. $25, nearly forty years later, writes as if new.
I don't use the 146 as much as I should - but it is a nice nib (circa 1977).

Just one, Meisterstueck Le Grand, EF, black resin and gold.
Absolutely no problems for the last three years or so.
The pen delivered what has been promised by MB's marketing team.
Why golden? I bought black resin and platinium Le Grand for my "better half" a few weeks before I bought mine.
That was the fastest way to diffrentiate those pens quickly (especially in a morning, befor coffee kicks in).
The next one - only after they change their prices on limited editions. Downward, I mean. Not quickly, I guess.

Christie FP w Mottishawed medium oblique cursive italic
Poe B FP
Proust Binderized broad oblique italic FP and a M FP set
Fitzgerald OB FP and BP
Woolf OM FP set
So all in all 6 MB fountain pens, of which only the M Proust and B Poe wrote superbly out of the box (that's 33%!).
Of the 4 nib exchanges, the Christie OBB and the Proust OB wrote poorly hence the regrinds. The OB Fitzgerald and OM Woolf are impeccable. OBs are my favorite nibs, but no two OB nibs from MB nibs write the same. I suppose that the nibs on LEs are ground individually by different craftsmen.
Will I buy other MB FPs? Most probably yes. I am addicted to their nibs (when they write well) and I appreciate MBs design efforts. Ironically the pen design I like the most is not a FP, it is the Proust MP (pencil).
Which of the MB pens you own has the best design in your opinion?

I am proud owner of 3 #149s recent purchase at Toronto Pen show.
It has the following points. One Oblique, broad and medium. Use them every day since the purchased. I also have many other montblancs but can't remember their model numbers.

My Mont Blanc collection includes:
My late grandmother's 1960's model 34 with an OB nib and a model 32 cap
A sadly broken pre-WWII model 234 1/2 that may have belonged to my grandfather. It has a very flexible fine nib; the barrel is snapped into two pieces
The 149 with medium nib that I bought with paper route money around 1979, one of my very favorite fountain pens
A Noblesse set from the 70s, FP (med), ballpoint and pencil
A 4-color gravity-select Noblesse ballpoint (it has four little windows on the cap; turn the window with the desired color up, and then push down on the cap to extend the refill with that color); this is my favorite non-fountain pen

I have 6 MB's:
1 149
3 146's

The 146 is one of my favorite FP's. I especially like the ones with the plastic fill mechanism because it is so much lighter than the metal fill mechanism.

Ok...
Desk: Vintage Fountain pen, late 50's. Think its a 32, and its my knockabout desk pen at work.
Work: Brand new LeGrande platinum rollerball for meetings etc. (FP would be too delicate for all the moving about). I like the larger size for its more masculine feel.
Pocket: Classique gold ballpoint for my jacket pocket, and for its take anywhere, simple durability. And it wont leak on the travels. It's a pen I don't have to worry about. The smaller size is less ostentatious, and more practical, when using it in every day circumstances. Plus, you can get other refills!
...That covers my wokload perfectly.
Next step is either a 146 or a 149. Not sure which to get. It would be for best, and an upgrade to my desk FP! I'm only really interested in owning perhaps 2 more FP's: a Pelikan 800 series in black, and a 51. I can't stand the colourful and rather vulgar offerings about and have a real taste for simple black and metal.

I have one 146, a gift received about 15 years ago. I am about to go get it repaired, because I left ink in it for an unforgivable amount of time, requiring professional cleaning.
It wrote very pleasingly before I wrought such neglect on it, so I hope it still writes the same afterwards (and that my wallet will not have suffered too greatly).
