I have a Sailor 1911 that the inner plastic blind cap falls out of occasionally. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this. I don't want to use something like epoxy as that would not allow removal should the clip need repair.

Any suggestions?

I don't have a 1911, but I have used shellac with good success in the past. I would also think that section sealant would work well in cases where there is a slightly looser fit between the two parts.
