Good Morning Everyone,
I look forward to learning a lot from you. If anyone lives close to me or has any information about upcoming local (San Antonio or Austin) shows or clubs, I'd be delighted to hear from you,
Mike

Welcome from Western Canada!
Can't help you with your local pen shows, obviously, but there are lots of Texans on the board so you should get useful answers soon. What kind of pens are you interested in, by the way, Mike?

I'm sorta re-learning the whole fountain pen thing, they were compulsory when I was at school in the late 50's/most of the 60's in U.K.. My writing style seems to suit their use an. d the missus bought me a nice Montblanc last Christmas. I don't consider my self a collector of.....

....... anything really, but I like what I use to be of the best quality - and I already had the Dunhill pipe etc.!

Welcome from the DFW area. As far as I know, the Dallas Pen Show the weekend of Sep 28 at the Holiday Inn Select in Richardson (just north of Dallas on US 75) is the closest pen show to Austin. I think it is a 3-4 hour drive from Austin, but www.dallaspenshow.com has all the info on the show, as well as lodging specials in conjunction with the show. I am looking forward to my first pen show there, and meeting some people who post on this board, as well as connecting with Susan Wirth in order to get some nibs for my two Parker 45s which don't spread ink like a paint roller

.
A cursory google search revealed little fountain pen activity in Austin, which is surprising, as it is a big college town, as well as the state Capital. I wish you success in finding a local source for fp paraphenalia.

As far as I can tell, the pen show in Dallas is the _only_ pen show in Texas anymore, at least, organized larger than the 'club' level.
The Houston one hasn't happened for several years.

That rain has been crazy these past couple of months..............I didn't sign up for Puerto Rico

! - August has been back to normal, so far but we have flora & fauna that I've never seen here before.................Mushrooms for example.............everywhere!!
