Greetings from the sunny side of the mountain...that's where DocNib's PenEmporium is located!
Fresh air, beautiful scenery, wildlife galore (that includes ME!) and lots of cool pens offered to you at good prices. The majority of my pens have been found in the wild over the past 29 years and have given me lot o' pleasure, so now it's time to pass some of that pleasure on to you!

As promised, here's Batch #2 of which all but two were found recently at garage sale in a shoebox that will live in my memory for quite a while! And away we go again...

BATCH #2...
Capped:

Posted:

From left to right...
1) WATERMAN #18 BCHR Barrel & Section Only! I dug thru the shoebox like a MADMAN looking for the rest of the pen but alas, GONE! The chasing is worn almost completely smooth with just a little showing, imprint is worn but still visible, both bands are brassed but do polish up nice, threaded section in great shape with no cracks (no cracks in barrel either), not an easy item to find when you need the parts to make that project pen whole...PenEmporium Price $175.00/Reduced to $150.00!

2) ((ON HOLD FOR T.W.)) SECURITY #600 "Self-Filling" FP by Kritikson Bros./Chicago in BCHR w/GF Trim (~5"L), 14K #6 "Security" Medium Flex nib (very flexible, almost "wet-noodle"), twist-fill which actually depresses a pressure bar (neat mechanism!), under cap-top is patented "Check Protector" feature which is a series of 7 "pounce wheel" type of rollers that when inked produces a series of lines when rolled over the signature on a check helping to prevent altering the signature (needs to be cleaned with a solvent but is fully intact), price tag still on under spring-loaded clip (cost $5.00 back in the early-mid 20's!), chasing & imprint crisp & strong, color is almost pure Black, barely any wear at all on cap & barrel, some brassing & a tiny pitted spot on cap-band, only real flaw is a 1/4' crescent-shaped chip on edge of knurled twist-knob on barrel bottom, otherwise pen would be considered "Excellent" (I'll give it "Excellent -" anyway!)...PenEmporium Price $175.00!

3) SAILOR FP in Lacquer-Coated BHR w/ Chrome Plated Trim (~5"L), #5 Fine Flex Alloy nib imprinted "HIGHEST GRADE SAILOR NON-CORROSION SPECIAL MADE PEN -5-" & has pin-point piece of right tip missing (writing straight on or turning towarsds the left works great but turning to the right will scratch paper), eyedropper fill with ink shut-off valve for controlling ink flow, barrel has the Sailor "Anchor" logo & some kanji characters which I would assume says Sailor, barrel & cap are BHR with some type of lacquer coating over it to help prevent fading (looks Black until you look under Halogen lighting, then has HR Dk. Brown appearance, some pitting on cap-band & clip but not too bad, some minor scuffs & scratches on cap & barrel but again very minor, overall condition is "Very Good"...PenEmporium Price $90.00/Reduced to $80.00!

4) ((SOLD TO G.K.)) NAMIKI "Pilot" FP in Lacquer-Coated BHR w/Rolled Gold Trim (~5-1/4"L), 14K-#8 Fine Semi-Flex nib imprinted "WARRANTED PILOT 14K MADE IN JAPAN <8> POINTED" (long nib!), lever fill, barrel imprint worn but still visible & is "The Namiki Mfg. Co., Ltd." with the name "PILOT" above it, minor brassing on cap-band, cap & barrel have some surface wear but still in great condition, overall condition is "Excellent"...PenEmporium Price $190.00! (A Early Pilot/Namiki Pen!)

5) SWAN (Mabie Todd & Co./England) #4 "ETERNAL" Std. Size FP in BHR w/GF Trim (~5-1/8"L), 14Ct-#4 Fine Semi-Flex nib, lever filler, strong barrel imprint, plain clip w/ no imprint and bandless-style cap-lip (but has std. style cap-top banding), minor brassing on cap-top band & lever, a few pin-point marks on lower barrel, very clean look to this BHR Beauty, overall condition is "Excellent"...PenEmporium Price $85.00/Reduced to $75.00!

6) GOLD MEDAL #8 FP in Navy Blue Plastic w/GF Trim (~5-1/4"L), 14K-#8 "BB" (small size 8) Warranted nib (ultra smooth, like butter on glass & extra broad line!), lever fill, 1/2" diameter cap, minor brassing on cap-band, 1/8" vertical scratch on cap-lip (from edge to band) but is not cracked (matter of fact, cap wall is almost 1/16" thick!), rest of cap & barrel in great condition, overall condition is "Excellent -"...PenEmporium Price $130.00/Reduced to $120.00!

7) ((ON HOLD FOR P.A.C.)) SHEAFFER "Lifetime" O/S Flat-Top in Black Radite w/GF Trim (~5-1/4"L), 14K-Medium Lifetime #'d nib with visulated section (this is only 2nd one I've seen like this, not sure if original, but sure looks & writes nice!), lever filler, minor brassing on all trim (but polishes up pretty!), minimal wear & tear on cap & barrel & no cracks or splits, overall condition is "Excellent -"...PenEmporium Price $105.00!

8) ((SOLD TO S.M.)) MOORE #L-96 O/S FP in Navy Blue w/GF Trim (~5-1/2"L), 14K-#6 XF nib (very smooth for an XF & good flow!), lever filler, cap diameter is ~9/16" wide, minor brassing on all trim (but polishes up nice!), minimal wear & tear on cap & barrel with no dents, dings or deep scratches, very simple but elegant look to this large beauty, overall condition is "Excellent -"...PenEmporium Price $225.00!

Morning George & Gang!
I've never been an advocate of it, but if you buff out the chasing, which is already nearly smooth, you could have the 18 bottom (& not the kind Steve wants in the post below embarrassed_smile.gif !) to match the smooth cap.
Only problem is that you'd know and that can really wreak havoc on one's conscience...well, for some people anyway! Just a thought!
Best,

Steve, you dog you!
I love spending my life with the 50 year old bottom I married (still smooth as an 18 year old)...and besides, she can name the four Beatles! My kind of bottom!

I too am very happy with the forty year old bottom I married. (Although she is oblivious to all popular culture, including the Beatles.) I just can't resist a straight line. Steve
