Hi,
Can all of you look at the piston knob of your M200? I had a cross-shaped crack in mine. I returned it to Chartpak and got it back today with another knob that has a different shaped crack in the same place. The crack should be directly above the end of the plunger screw.

I have two M250s here, Dillon. I believe they're the same as the M200 except that the standard nib in the M250 is the 14K.
One is a NOS with the older design cap end (inlaid logo), and the other is the current cap end. Neither have any sort of "crack" visable on the end of the piston knob, even under a 10x loupe.

I just got a translucent blue M200 last week from Pendemonium. Its piston knob looks fine as far as I can tell.

I just got a M200 that had a crack right above the end - where the stick part of the filling system is.
I'm about to send it back - I don't feel comfortable using it knowing that the crack could grow and cover me in ink.

Just checked my translucent amber M250 and there are no cracks anywhere on the piston knob.

i'm a bit confused about where you mean - is it something you can see with the piston in filled position or something that is only visible if you have the piston fully open?

Hi,
You see it all the time. It is on the piston knob that stares at me all the time when I am writing. It is normally at the little top center part of the knob.

Dillon, I just examined my 2 M200s--I don't see or feel any cracks on the piston knobs.
Best, Ann

Hi,
You can not see the cracks or feel the cracks dead on. The cracks are viewed at an angle in strong light. That is when you can see the cracked spot reflecting.
