Just to say that I have just received in the post my Cross Century Classic that had developed a wonky nib and feed after some years of use. Cross has replaced the section for me - no cost. So, all is as good as new

.
Thank you - excellent service.
I particularly noted instructions that when sending the pen to Cross I should let them know if the pen was of sentimental value (mine wasn't). It seems the folks there understand that sometimes a pen is more than simply a functional piece of kit.

You mean you didn't even have to pay $10.00 just to get it in the door?

No, just a few stamps on a neat little parcel and off it went to the nice Cross people.

I apologize for resurrecting an old post, but I was curious to know how you went about circumventing the $10.00 handling fee. I'm about to send in one of my Cross pens and noticed that you were the only person who mentioned not paying. Did you fill out the online repair form or send it in unannounced?

Perhaps the system is different in the US, but here in the UK I called in to a local jeweller who stocks Cross pens. The jeweller said they could handle the whole thing for free as they have the Cross rep come in to visit frequently or I could contact Cross directly, which is what I did.
I sent Cross an email and had a nice reply telling me where to post the pen and they would handle everything. I asked if there was any charge and they said no.
Pen as good as new.

I wholeheartedly agree with Chris: the service of Cross UK is second to none! Last year I sent them a Lapis Lazuli which came with a fine nib that kept drying out after a few lines. They replaced it for free but it still would not write properly so I asked them if they would change it for a medium one. No problem - they changed it again at no cost to me,I changed the Cross ink (which maybe was the reason for the ink starvation) to Parker Quink and now, filled with Pelikan Violet it's my favourite pen.

Cross UK service is superb. They have repaired damage to my pens even when it was my fault and never charged me a penny. Never asked for a guarantee or proof of purchase neither!!

Good to hear Cross UK is still giving great customer service. Cross USA is a mere shadow of the company it used to be, both in the quality of pens produced and customer service.

Cross UK are the best, they put other pen manufacturers to shame.
The after sales service is so good that Cross are reccomended to others and therefore help counter sales.
