I just got this in from that bay thing:

The only markings on it are on the cap, indicating it's "Made In UK", and somewhat more esoterically, "IIE". I've a black one from the same purchase which says IIIY. So, gang, any thoughts on what these things are? Other than far from top-of-line, which is obvious.

It looks like a Parker 15/Parker Jotter (depending on what you want to call it), but the gold trim is what makes me wonder, I've never seen Parker Jotters with gold trim before.

It could be a Parker Arrow - I have one of these about somewhere.....Parker Pens

It does look rather like that Arrow, except this thing has no tassie whatever-- just a black plastic plug flush with the top of the cap and the shoulder of the clip.

I don't think it is a Parker Arrow. The clip on the Arrow has a long smooth feather with no markings.

This leaves a Parker 15/Jotter which has a long clip which is flush at the top with no tassie just the black plastic plug you describe.

Don't recall having seen a 'flighter GT' before though. Must have been their top of the range model!

UPDATE
Here's a link to a Website which shows a stainless steel CT Parker 15

Hi,

I have one of these somewhere, can't find at the moment, but pretty sure it is a Parker 15, only difference is that I think mine has standard chrome rather than GP trim.

Hi folks,

That looks to be a 15/Jotter in what might be called 'Flighter GT' style, the Arrow has a different style of nib, a somewhat different style of clip, has a cap finial (tassie) and is longer and looks straighter sided than the 15, not quite so cylindrical as the Vector/Rialto/88 but less tapering in the barrel than the 15.

Cheers, John

I think the history of this model was that it started out in the mid 1980s as a budget model aimed at students. It was called the Parker 15 and was entirely independent of the Jotter.

I believe the fountain pen and the more recently introduced rollerball model were later incorporated into the Jotter range and the 15 name was dropped. As far as I am aware, the ballpoint [and probably also the pencil] are no longer manufactured.
