Bought one on a real good in-store sale. The paper is definitely NOT FP friendly! Major bleed through and feathering with Noodler's, Waterman and Private Reserve inks. The only upside is that I can put good paper in it, assuming it's compatibly punched.

Thank you very much for the info, I was wondering what the paper quality is like.

I had a similar experience. The paper makes me think of very thin blotter paper.

Hmm. I just picked up a handful of them and got just what I expected: good--not great--paper that I'll likely replace with an upgraded selection. In fact, I have a pad in my lap as we speak, and I notice similar amounts of feathering as on the Levenger pad on my desk. One difference--the Levenger is heavy enough that a fine pen can probably use both sides of the paper. The Rolla paper is definitely for one-sided use only. Neither is the perfect FP paper, but they are both far from blotter paper.

Of course, most of my pens are European Fines, so your BBB stub may feather a bit more. smile.gif But if you're using a paintbrush, you probably already knew that a comparatively-inexpensive pad wasn't going to hold up to your musings.

Remember, there's a number of places to get Rolla-style punches (I just bought one at 50% off from MC2office.com). I can verify that HP #32 "Premium Choice" fits in the punch just fine, and the Rolla rings and covers contain it nicely.
