I'm looking for fountain pen's I could like to include them in my wish list

I actually own a Lamy 200 that I like a lot.

Also I've always been in love with Waterman Serenite (black and Cocobolo, but not blue or maki-e's)

Searching in this excellent forum I've found some FP's I like :

Some Murex, Verve (hope they'd do it black), Nakaya Ciggar Piccolo Clipless (the black-red colour)

Do you see a pattern here? Which others FPs could I like?

I'm talking mainly about "look" not performance

Thanks in advance for your advices and forgive my bad english (corrections are welcome)

Regards form BCN

Stick to the "SLEEK" pens...

HOODED/SEMI-HOODED Parker 51, Parker 21, Hero 3xx
INLAID--Carene, Edson, Sheaf (various models), C/F
CONICAL - Sheaf Triumph, Cross VERVE

These will, I believe, fit both your need for Bauhausian "FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION" looks AND all have superb performance characteristics.

BTW...these are not exhausive lists...

Off the top of my head I came up with almost the exact same list as Bill. I would add only to look at some of the Japanese pens that have that wonderful minimalist look like the Danitrio raw ebonite series. To my eyes that minimalist look has a timeless aura about it.

Thanks all for your advices.

Waterman Edson seems amazing especially the Limited Edition. I presume is quite expensive, isnt it?

Cross Verve is also on the list and will probably fit better my budget. I hope they'd do it in others colours...

BTW Is there any other FP with a window to see the ink remaining (like Lamy 2000)?

Most of the modern Pelikans give you an ink window, although they're a more traditional open nib. You might look for an old Pelikan Silvexa, as they're a piston filler with an ink window, and a semi-hooded nib. A Lamy 27 would fit the bill too, although I'm not certain that they had an ink window. Search for MYU's review on the Lamy 27, as it's a terrific expose on the pen.

Well a demonstrator would do that but I think the 149 MB and maybe the pelikans as well.

Look up Mont Blanc's early Noblesse/SL/Slimline pens from the 1970s, as well as the Pelikan Signum pens from the same time. There's usually a bunch of them on ebay and on http://www.martiniauctions.com

Slim pens, minimal flashiness, lots of brushed stainless finishes. Cartridge/converter fill, and they're not terribly expensive to buy, in the under $70 range.

You seem to have the same sort of tastes as me. Thanks for all your suggestions people, there are some lovely pens there!

hmmmm... for garnishing, one MB 149 or a funky blue Jules Verne. Nah..Oskar? roflmho.gif

And what about Serenite? Is there any FP with a similar look?

Another one I like (thanks to this forum):

Omas Emotica Black matte.

Yep, the Edson costs on the order of $800 or so MSRP. I haven't even looked at the street price.

I did a review of the Cross Verve some time back; think there are now three AFFORDABLE finishes--in the $150 or so range...

Ink supply windows are vastly overrated...as you become experienced with the FP, the pen will let you know when it is getting thirsty...

Stick with the SLEEKS...
