Have anyone tried a small green notebook called Memoranda from Federal Supply System? About 70-80 sheets, lined. Approx 3 1/4 X 4 3/8 or 5 1/2.

Not great paper, not terrible, but a nice size, but I don't know of any commercial supply.

This sounds like the standard small notebook found in supply cabinets all over the federal government. (At least, it was when I was there 20 years ago). I don't know that it has a commercial source - it is (or was) produced to a government spec that probably hasn't changed in 50 years. Where did you find yours?

Oh, and if you want something of similar size, try hunting around at your local Staples or Office Max, or perhaps Border or Barnes & Nobel. All of the above have a variety of things with medium useful paper. Go groveling around - you'll find something in a size you like.

We keep talking about all the small notebooks, then I remembered these. Did do a Google search and only found GSA type sellers, but sounded like $12 a dozen. Since they seem to sell everything else at Surplus stores I wondered if they were available. Or perhaps at a PX/BX. I live far away from either, thought others might know.

When I was in the Navy, we called those "wheel books". Reporter style, just fit in a shirt pocket, along with one or two government issue black ball point pens, which would write on the inside of a butter wrapper. The only ballpoints I ever really liked. Haven't seen one of those since 1991 when I retired from the Canoe Club. rolleyes.gif
