Full Version: Parker 45 disassembly

Hi all,

I've got a Parker 45 flighter, golden clip, cap screw and barrel ring (the one that stops the cap). It had quite a lot of dried ink in the feeder. On other 45s I own, the disassembly was quite simple: You just unscrew the weird ring it has at the end of the section, and the nib-feeder assembly comes out. Then you push this ring to the thinner end of the feeder and you can have the three pieces (ring, nib, and feeder) cleaned one by one.

But in this model, the ring seems to be unable to move further than a millimeter or less. Not only it is difficult to have the nib out of this but it would also be difficult to clean under it. Are there different variations of feeder models for the 45s? Or it is just that I have to push harder? Quite afraid of doing so, as when you push the ring you are stressing the thin end of the feeder quite a lot.

Any help? Thanks.

no differences, maybe it's "glued" with ink. use MILDLY warmed water.
