I just noticed that the entire nib section on my Pelikan M200 fountain pen which comes out of the barrel feels loose. It moves side to side like a twig when I try to write with it or when I touch it gently with my finger. I also noticed a small ink stain on the gold part of the nib near the barrel.
Can it be repaired? Or does the entire nib section need replacement?
I purchased this particular pen a few months ago brand new from www.goldspot.com and I never had any problem with it.
Is it common for the entire nib section on the M200 fountain pen to get loose like this?

To start with the simplest - is the nib coming unscrewed from the section? Give it a twist - righty tighty. If you go lefty-loosey it will come right out.

I've experienced some frustration with some pel nib/feed assys as they thend to be barely sitting on the retaining collar wich serves as screw-in nib/feed holder in the barrel/section. I just make sure that all my pelikan nibs are seated a little bit further in. This helps if you are on the "heavy" hand side and write at a fast pace too. The grading of the nib should be barely readable (to my personal taste)
However, if you haven't done much nib/feed setting, I'd recommend you send the pen out to a reputable nibmeister like Mr. Binder, it will cost you some money but instead of spending you'll be INVESTING in having a perfetcly setted up pen.
If this is "just another pen" and you want to give it a try, cut a 3/4 x 2" strip of nitryle rubber, fold it over once, put one side under the feed and one above the pelikan hallmark, grab them both tight (don't push the sides of the nib, you might damage tines!) and push them in Don't try to forge the feed from the front sectino as you might damage the comb wich is very delicate.

Oh yeah, prior to sitting it further, make sure nib and feed are in alignment!

I called ChartPak in Leeds, Massachusetts and spoke to Andrew there.
I told him that the entire nib section that's connected to the barrel is loose. He told me that the entire nib section on the Pelikan M200 tends to get loose sometimes from the writing pressure from right handed writing. He told me to turn the fountain pen upside down and then to grab the nib section which is the closest to the barrel (I am not sure, but I think that this is called the feed section of the nib) and to gently twist the entire nib section clockwise to tighten it. I did this and the entire nib section is now secure inside the barrel. It is no longer loose and it no longer turns clockwise and counter clockwise. I guess that the entire nib section near the feed end of the nib screws into the barrel and is held in place by threads that are inside the barrel.
One thing which I find very odd about the Pelikan M200 fountain pen is that I never knew that its nib can easily get loose and can easily unscrew itself from the barrel when writing with it. Especially for people who are right handed writers like me.

Almost of all my pens have screw-in nibs but none have ever gotten loose. But maybe that just means I turn mine a bit tighter than whoever last installed yours. (I remove nibs fairly often for cleaning , changing widths etc., stores will often swap out nibs based on customer preferences for width and smoothness, etc.)
