A while back, I asked a question about two #5 nibs of different girths. Here's a more pronounced difference in size between 33's from different years. Sorry about the sad state of the little one, but I didn't do it.

From the pictures it just looks like one nib is set deeper into its section than is the other.

Daniel,
You're absolutely right. It's obvious from my own photographs! I had thought there was a significant difference in the width of the two nibs, but there seems to be less than I thought. I guess what I need to do, is take the nibs out of the feeds and compare them. If my knock out block ever arrives, I'll make that my first use of it. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me, which obviously I missed.

Thanks for accepting my observation with grace. Say, how's the food at the Iron Works these days? I was only in Austin twice, but I really miss it...

Daniel,
Too much evidence to do otherwise, although it does make me squirm a little. I don't know how the food is at the Iron Works, I'm a vegetarian, but from all reports it remains good. The B-B-Q, if that's what you're in to, is reputed best in some of the small outlying burgs. If you're ever planning a return, let me know, and I'll inquire of some of my friends who are aficianados about some other spots to try. Anyway, again, thanks for being kind enough to point out my error instead of leaving me in it.

Well, if you're a vegetarian, if I come to town, I'd want you to show me the best veggie restaurants. I bet Austin has more than its share!
