I finally feel I have enough content to announce my website - www.sheafferflattops.com. It is primarily offered as an informational site. It will cover what I collect and specialize in - Sheaffer 1912-1941 and snorkels. I'll probably get around to Boston Safety and Wahl Tempoints as well. The content is a handful of articles, 80+ advertisements from 1915-1941, Walter Sheaffer's Biography which is a free download and my catalogues which are for sale. I plan to increase the articles and ads as they come along. Information on desk bases should also proliferate given enough time. I might sell a few items as I have some duplicates but, nothing listed presently and nothing planned in the near future.

Some of the ads are quite rare and have taken years to locate. Secretaries were ever only in two ads, one for the radite in 1925 (Cardinal red) and the only documentation I have seen on the black chased hard rubber Secretary outside of the design patent itself in 1923. A surprising number of balance ads as many of them cover desk bases and Sheaffer stopped advertising flattops circa 1929 - last flattop ad I have at any rate. So the ads from 1930-41 are all balance ads.

I hope you like it.

It's brilliant to see such knowledgeable collectors sharing information in this way - it's a great thing for the FP community.

Looking very good, Roger. biggrin.gif

Roger, Have you ever thought about putting together a booklet of copies of all the ads, sorta like the copies of the catalogs you sell? I'm sure there would be an interest in something like that. Great site by the way.

Roger,
Just wanted to add my humble accolade and say what a fine and generous offering it is to the pen collector community. I have been enjoying Sheaffer's autobiography.
Thank you,
Oliver

Thanks for all the comments and even if you didn't comment the traffic has been very good - thanks for looking. As far as an ads type catalogue I have thoughts about that though there are many holes yet. Maybe once I'm to about 150 ads. Do keep looking back as I add ads weekly. I also added quite a few pictures to the lamp article last nigt. That article is certainly still a work in progress.
