I bought one of these on eBay, estimated delivery date is July 26. I already have the felt pen trays from Gopens.com. Once I get the trays installed, and my collection arranged, I will post new pix and give a cost breakdown. Could be the bargain of the decade.

Looks like a great project, can't wait to see the results.
If you don't mind, what did the box cost you?

That is a great idea.
Would love to know how you manage removing the liners.
If I remember they are hard glued.

I asked the seller if all the drawers had dividers, and if they were removable, and were the ring rolls removable. He told me only the top drawer has dividers, and the ring rolls are not removable.

The dimensions are 12 3/4" L X 12 3/4" W X 9" H. Yes, it is advertised as a jewelry chest. The lid has a mirror in it. The site has had them for some time. Once I get mine, I will report on its construction, and if you are interested, you can get one, unless you want to take the plunge without a review of the box. The ebay seller is jfei888. I originally found it while looking for a wood tool box I thought might work for a pen chest. His feedback is 99.6% positive, and he answered all my questions (about 4, if I remember correctly), although answers tended to get shorter with each question (I don't blame him for that - I got the answer I needed, and I wasn't looking for a new friend).

The box came yesterday. The seller's dimensions were not exactly accurate, even though I asked specifically if it is 12 3/4 W x 12 3/4 L x 9 H, and he said yes, it is in fact 12 3/4 W x 9 L x 12 3/4 H. And the two bottom drawers are deeper than the others, except for the top, which has a lid with mirror. In any case, I cut the pen trays from gopens, and installed my collection. I put my ink bottles (Pelikan green 30 ml, Pelikan Royal Blue 62.5 ml, Noodler la coleur royale 30 ml) in ziplocs sideways in the bottom drawer, and sorted out my collection in the rest. I also have various ephemera in the two bottom drawers, including o rings, plumber's grease (silicone) some spare converters, and my pen cases. I took a bunch of pictures, and would love to post them, but my 16 year old borrowed the cable and I cannot download them. He left a day early, yesterday, to help set up the technical stuff for the 5-church family camp this weekend. Also pics of my new grandson, Gideon James, 10 lb 9 oz, 22 inches (whopper!!!). Born Wednesday afternoon, after his mom was induced Wed am.
