Are these 50's Pelikans nib/feed assemblies just screwed on too?
Yes, these nib assemblies are screwed in, but trying to remove them in this manner will often lead to a broken feed. The best way to remove them is to first remove the nib by pulling it straight out the front of the pen. You can use a *very* slight rocking motion (side to side), but it should be minimal. After you have the nib out, you will have a little more room, in the collar, with which to work on the feed. Don't rock the feed at all, but pull it straight out the front of the pen also.
If the feed still resists after the nib has been removed, soak just the nib/section in cool water for a day or so. That usually loosens the dried ink and will allow the feed to come out.
If there's India ink in there, you may have problems.
best of luck,
Chris
