I will be traveling to Munich and thought I would get a Pelikan pen or two while there as a souvenir. I know I can buy them here in the States but what's the fun in that? Any suggestions on stationary/pens stores in Munich would be most appreciated. -- Thanks

Sorry, can't answer your question, but I am sure I read somewhere that Pelikans are actually often cheaper in the USA, may not be as much fun, but why pay more just to buy in Germany.

Maybe one of our German members can confirm (or not).

An afterthought: maybe regularly priced models can be had for less in the States, but it is rewarding to check the shops mentioned for special offers.
I once bought a Pelikan 200 set (FP/ballpoint pen) for 1/4 of the normal price. Things like that may happen –if you’re lucky.

The link has great ideas. Karstadt department store has a nice office supply section and often has deals. You are always better off on price choices to find office supply stores. Of course, the value of the dollar will hurt in any case.

But the fun part will be exploring. Let the hotel concierge direct you to a few places.

Haven't been in München in years, but the last time I went I got a couple of "user" Pelikans at Uni Bedarf near the Uni. I think the place was on Amalienstrasse. No discount, but since I was looking for lower end Pelis, that wasn't a problem.

Pengrump, true, there’s a smaller store in the Amalienstraße right behind the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität. there, it was the last time I saw a Sheaffer Crest of the same generation as mine... I still feel sorry I haven’t bought it.
