A few months ago I restored a Sheaffer Statesman touchdown filler. After the work was done I put it away.
Last night I pulled it out and when I took off the cap I noted that the section and nib was covered in ink.
I wiped it off and refilled it, then ejected the ink, and ink was coming out from all around the feed. The pen
was disassembled and cleaned and put back together, but with the same results - ink coming out around the
feed. I've pulled the nib and feed and checked the section with a light can find no signs of a crack or anything.
In sort, everything looks fine. But there is a gread deal of ink coming out from around the feed and I cannot
figure out why. Any clues? I've checked and the nib and feed apper to be seated properly.
