I recently became a member of FPN and thought I should introduce myself. I've carried a FP for quite a while. My first was a gift, a now slightly battered Waterman L'Etalon. A couple of years ago I backed it up with Rotring Freeway and then was given a Monteverde Invincia for Fathers' Day. Now I have the bug... I received a shipment of 6 inexpensive Chinese FP's to play with yesterday and my ink collection has gone from 1 bottle (Waterman Havana Brown) to 8 in a little over a month.
I have also converted my daughter, the proud owner of a Krone (high school graduation gift thanks to a really good sale price at Fountain Pen Hospital) and daily user of a Retro 51 Tornado.
We live in Dixon, CA, USA (near Sacramento), though she is off to college in Hillsdale, Michigan in a month.
Greetings!

Welcome to the forums, quite a lot to interest you, so have a good look round. You already seem to have the start of an addiction, for me it had a strangely opposite effect, I think I buy less pens now, but I could be wrong.
Bit disappointed to read in another post that you are an Arsenal fan, but we can't all be perfect (no offence intended).

Welcome to FPN. You've got the bug. Looks like you've passed it along to your daughter. Good job!

Welcome to FPN! Have you investigated any vintage pens?

Welcome! Seems we are gathering quite a few Northern CA people. I live in El Dorado Hills. I started about 10 years ago with 1 pen. I am afraid to count how many I have now. It is a fun hobby.

hi, i'm his daughter... it took me a while to get onto fpn, but here i am! it's part of the architectus collection, the gothic one, i believe, it's the maroon one with the pretty swirls on the outside. i now also have a few cheap chinese pens and a handful of bottles of ink, and another rather large handful of cartridges, for their amazing convenience of refilling in class.

They say that fathers and daughters sometimes share special bonds with each other. Ain't that sweet?
Hey gr10girl, nice to meet you

I'm sure that you'll have as much fun screwing around with fountain pens as me, your father and everyone else on this forum does.
And damn right - Life is too short for ballpoints, crummy inferior ink-sticks...FOUNTAIN PENS FOREVER!

Yippee - we're getting a nice contingent of pen people in the Sacramento area! Are you all going to the Pan Pacific Pen Club meeting at the Jelly Belly Factory on Sept 29th? (in Vacaville?)
I just got a box of repaired pens back from Richard Binder today

, so I'm off to play with them.
