I have seen conflicting information, so now I am confused. Is the Parker 15 the same as the Parker Jotter? Some say yes, some list them separately from one another. What's a pen collector to do? Pleae help me out here. Thank you.

Hi,

I have several of each of 15s and jotters, and apart from the date codes, there is no difference between the later 15s and the jotters. The earlier 15s have chrome plated clips, whereas the jotters have unplated polished clips (you can tell the difference side by side). Also, I have an early 15 flighter FP, with a longer barrel than the later ones, and it has a plastic end on it, whereas the later 15s and jotter FPs have dished ends that are formed from the end of the barrel.
I hope this helps, Max.

Hi Donnie,

It seems to go something like this, based on observation and not on documentation; in the US the standard, everyday, Parker ball pen was always called the Jotter, in UK too it was called the Jotter but also the T-ball Jotter in its early years but everyone knew where they were and what was what, then at some point, came the Parker 15/Jotter fountain pen, sold here in UK and in some other places for years as the Parker 15 but in other markets as the Jotter FP.

I can't swear to it being true for all but I haven't noticed any trim differences between the 15 and the Jotters FPs that have passed through my hands over the years all have had the same trims, depending upon the model (Flighter, Flighter GT etc), some have been made in UK some in USA, (I haven't noticed any labelled made in France),to be honest I can't say that I pay that much attention to them although the Flighter makes a good pocket pen, except for the all metal pens, most of them like the Vectors and Reflexes get passed on to various young relatives and offspring of friends for school use.

When it comes to ball pens to go with the 15/Jotter FP there was a specific model, a 'top clicker' with the cap modelled on the FP cap rather than a button clicker 'Jotter' although I have not seen any of these 'top clickers' for sale in the last few years and on e-bay it seems that the button clicker BP is paired with the 15/Jotter FP.

Sorry not to be of more help,

Cheers, John

PArker told me that they are the same. They (Parker) never called that a jotter but rather a P15 insteads. Sholud anyone said the are not. I will be happy to see some photo soon. Many tks in advance should that be enlighten information coming in. As for some parts not the same, i thing must be a slight change in design or the mould....... (If I am right)
