Here is a used sonnet. http://www.allegro.pl/item216924821_parker.html

Please, look at the picture number 2 or 3. The gold layer on the ring has gone... Is it sth unusual or it just happens?

Unusual to see one that bad, but the gold plate does wear out over time, particularly on some of the caps with wide bands as some people grip them when taking the cap off (possibly something to do with sweat residue etc on the hands). It may of course just be a bad picture, it is a bit blurred.

I am wondering if this is actually a fake Sonnet, not sure if the nib is 'right (it looks different from the one on my fake Sonnet, but not sure if it's correct), maybe somebody else can comment, if it is fake it would explain the rapid wear, as the gold plating is generally poor quality.

I don't know why fake are the blame????? IMHO the ink are the cause insteads. I have seem many good nice pen but always I would said the ink are the cause to such.......

I think (not sure) the nib is of the kind found in pre-2000 sonnets. I have seen Prahbleu on ebay who sells sonnets with a similar looking nib. I personally avoided buying that cuz I couldn't be sure it was genuine.
