Hi all,
I'm just wondering if there is an ideal location on a pen for engraving.
I just got a Sheaffer Prelude (Chorme, Black) and I had it engraved on the cap from left to right. I feel it's kinda awkward.
Anyone free to comment?

I can see the point of engraving, but I just never could bring myself to do it...I like the pristine look.

I think that's an excellent location to engrave.
How do you like the pen? I think that the chrome/black is the besst color combination.
As far as ideal locations go, all pens are different! A lot of the older pens have the engraving right along the barrel. Some get engraved on the clip.

All I considered was initials on the clip... Still not sure (MB Meisterstuck)

I don't even like the manufacturer's name on a pen.

a tad extreme prehaps?
I happen to like the occasional vintage pen with a name on it. i especially like single first names, for example i just recently got a 51 with Jerry on the barrel.

I would kill for a vintage pen with my initials already engraved on it!
Everyone keep on the lookout for one with RSR, or RR on it!

I for one could never bring myself to engrave a pen. But if that is your choice, then wherever you put it should be too.

Yes it is a tad extreme but thats how I feel.
I cant get how can you buy a new pen and make a change on it.
I have sold all the pens in my collection that had a name engraved on it.

Who is going to buy a pen with your name on it, unless your George Washington or Babe Ruth?
If you like engraving go for it. But remember the value of the pen will likely be effected.
