Somtimes ink golbs are an indication of air getting in somewhere. If you have a squeeze converter, check that it has no leaks. Make sure that the converter or cartridge is seated fully and not allowing air in. And one other thing, the nib/ feed may not be fully seated in the pen. They come out pretty easily by grasping and pulling with a slight twist. I had mine out right after I got it to really give the nib and feed a good cleaning. If the nib/ feed is out slightly it could be letting in air which again can lead to glops. Also, I have another pen that is normally well behaved but will burp ink out of the breather hole after it has been sitting in the cool and I write with it and warm it up in my hand. Haven't figured out what to do with that one yet. It's a modern Lamy.

the squeeze converter was not fully seated. i am now a happy man!
i've never owned a Parker 75 and i thought the ink reservoir (squeeze converter) was permanently attached. i didn't know it could come out/come loose.
THANKS!!!! pakmanpony, i owe you a drink if we ever meet up at a pen show.
