Does anyone know where I can find a smart-looking way of keeping papers neatly together. I'm looking for a portfolio type thing, perhaps in leather, which I can fold over and use to lean on when I'm taking notes at work etc. I'm in the UK and don't really want to spend *too* much on this, though obviously I realise anything cheap will just look tacky. Does anyone have any suggestions?

A scrapbook album looks great if you are not removing pages frequently as they are held in by covered post instead of rings.

It sounds like you're describing the Circa system offered by Levenger. Pages can be inserted and removed easily, and pocket folders are available for loose documents.

Others offer the system as well. I think the system is produced by a company called Rollabind and simply rebranded by Levenger, so the two are cross-compatable, and the Rollabind stuff is often cheaper. I believe that Calirfontaine makes a similar product too. It is offered in A4 format.

You can search FPN for reviews of all of these systems; they seem to elicit strong opinions from most of us. Among their supporters, the popular thing to do is order a paper punch (about $60) and some rings, and then use our own preferred brands of paper.

Good luck!

I like the leather envelope. You'll have to search to find one, but something like this.

Rollabind can be seen here.

Don't go out and pay list price. It's still expensive.

PM me if it is something that interests you.
