Finally finished my pen cabinet, renovated after years of collecting dust. I found it at work (local hospital), i think it may have been a dentists tool cabinet in the 40's or 50's. Now i couldn't just remove hospital property even though it was fit for the tip, so i had to make my boss an offer so i said £1 ($2) roflmho.gif but she wasn't having that so she accepted £5 ($10). I had to repair a few edges, a good sanding waxing and polishing, hey presto thumbup.gif

Some people have too much luck. I suppose it even came lined with the pen trays.
Congrats!

THAT is an excellent piece of furniture!

This is a great pen chest. Chance finds like this often yield the nicest pen cabinets.

Very nice.

Third drawer, right hand lane, 2nd pen in. Is that a Pelikan P1?

Beautiful pen cabinet! You did a great job restoring it. thumbup.gif

But more importantly your pens are beautiful sitting in your cabinet! Nice "51"s! I noticed your tag line says Parker "51" rules. I must agree! biggrin.gif
I also like your Pelikans, only because that's my husbands favorite.

This gives me ideas for when I'm at yard sales, I will look for something similar to put my pens in. Thanks for the photos.

Nice job and nice looking chest. So, two dozen per tray? I like the look of two across, and like the look of all those marbled CS's in the last photo. smile.gif

Thanks everyone, yes i'm really quite pleased with it and just had to share with like minded folks.
Andy, that is Conway Stewart 67 F.P. and pencil set, one of the later and not their better efforts. The only Pelikans i have are on the top of the cabinet as they are in the rotation at the moment but one of those is a Pelikan m400 with a very sweet med left foot oblique 14ct nib, 1950's cloud9.gif

Fantastic cabinet and a great find...

what are the dimensions of the cabinet... and how many pens per drawer??

I can see you don't really like parkers all that much... or the CS's either biggrin.gif

Well done, a great looking cabinet and some wonderful pens to go with it, bought a small cabinet a couple of years back planning to do something similar, but still haven't got round to it yet. Still I have a couple of pen cabinets I bought on ebay which with another one I have had for years hold most of the pens I want 'on show'.

A veritable treasure chest! Very nice indeed. thumbup.gif

Trevor, its 15" high (38cm), 14 1/2" wide (37cm) and 10" deep (25 1/2cm). Set out as it is i've managed to put 24 pens per drawer, and yes the bulk of my collection would be Parker, thumbup.gif putting as many different styles of 45's together at the minute up to about 25 now. The Conway Stewarts are kind of on the side, i really like the marbled pens.
