I am about to just bite the bullet and go for the 1911. Are there any bi-color nib options for this pen? How do the nibs run? Are they typically wider or narrow than the Pelikans? And finally what are they "Nagahara" nibs exactly?

The Sailor nib will definitely run finer than a Pelikan.
Nagahara nibs are personally made my
Mr. Nagahara himself - a master nib designer.
I do not know about bi-color nibs.

I believe that the 1911s with gold trim have bicolor nibs while the all rhodium trimmed ones have all rhodium nibs. THe Nagahara are broader and wetter than their standard nibs; probably of equal width as the Pelikans of equivalent linewidth designation.

From what I've seen, only Sailor's Professional Gear merits the 2-tone nib; all the others are monotone. As far as 1911s go, Rhodium-trimmed pens get Rhodium-trimmed nibs and gold-trimmed pens get gold-trimmed nibs.
