This might be an odd question, but I was wondering if the outer cardboard boxes for the later 1950s Presentation Cases are especially hard to come across.

In particular ones still in decent condition--just stained a little bit and with just a few chips in the outer layer of cardboard.

(re: 'Later 1950s Presentation Cases' sentence = OldGriz and the nib chart picture made me want a Parker '51' book laugh.gif )

Honestly the P51 book is a must since many homework had been done. The authors need the credit too. By buying the book, you already have five or more inner P51 cover. The book are a real informatives read out. Since my bad english I have a good share by looking page by page. What are you wait for.............

I have the book! I love it to death. blush.gif I actually got it a while back, that was how I knew the name of the case wink.gif

I was just trying to figure out if it is odd to find the outer cardboard box with one of the sets--the white-ish one that just says "PARKER" across the top, and on the side gives the model number of the case itself (i.e. 270) and has a stamp with what color the pen and pencil are.

I guess this is much more of an experience/opinion question. I've not been at this long, so it is hard to know what is common to find and what is much less common.

IMHO any item of cardboard in good condition is going to be rather uncommon as they tended to be tossed first, or damaged by time. If you have one I would certainly hang onto it!

Ok now you got the book, we got the talking going. Yes it is indeed hard to come by. I got one box that cost me a real pain. (hundreds over dollars US) but if I don't buy it i know I have to wait and i don't have the time...............
I would advise you NOT getting it. the problems is about storeage....... I have too many other pen boxes waiting to sell Or trade for a nice PArker box but don't know HOW.
