Can anyone tell me anything about the pen in the title? What a good price might be? What are the dimensions of the pen?
Is it heavy or light?
Thanks

Check out the review database for some more information.

Also, depending where you are located the prices vary. I was able to purchase a couple for approx $150 CDN. Not sure if there is a better price, but they are nice writers what can I say?

I bought a still sealed in little baggie silver, not rhodium coated one from a different vendor (not affiliated with him/her, just very satisfied with my purchase) who currently has another for sale (very good price IMHO) on ebay and was very pleased with the purchase. I got mine for $100 Canadian. It is the old style (red logo on cap) and I like it better than the new ones.

I have no idea what the retro 2 stands for-never heard of it.

Note: If you get one, be prepared to use it for awhile before it becomes a smooth writer. There is a rhodium coating on the nib that you have to wear off. I thought mine was busted, but some smart person on here set me straight. Good luck.

I just looked at the auction again and it appears that the "2" refers to the fact that it comes with 2 boxes. I don't think it has anything to do with the pen. Here's a question, though. It says it comes in the original poly pack, but the pen has been inked, so that doesn't work. The picture looks like it is a sealed poly pack, but that could just be my eyes...

Also, the middle picture looks like it must be the xs version (extra small) because the cap appears to be posted (must be, because the end of the pen in that picture is unable to hold the cap...) and there is no way that is a regular size shown with the cap on because it is 7 inches long when posted. Maybe ask if it is the xs version, which goes for more than the regular.

OboeJuan, thanks for the heads up. I think with this enlightment I will steer clear of this deal. I apprecaite you keeping from doing something I might regret, or learning a lesson the expensive way.

Glad I could help. I just had a few questions about the picture vs description, though. I might be wrong. Doubt it, though. Not many things I can say that about!

if this is the auction then it is a great buy especially if you get it for around the $80 +pp = ~$88

it is not the XS model as the XS model has a smaller diam end to the barrel onto which the cap is meant to be posted to make it a more usable length for use... this is the original versionof the Ecridor Retro without the same smaller diam end to the barrel like the XS...
this one has the end of the cap and the barrel the same subtley domed end... where as the later version has a short section at the end of the barrel that is of a smaller diam for posting the cap

this pen with a posted cap would to unbalance in my opinion as the Ecridor is a somewhat heavy pen for it's size being solid brass base metal which is then coated.

if this is the pen I think it is it is then the one which is silver plated (therefore will tarnish) as the model I spoke of above with the smaller barrel end for posting the cap came only in rhodium plating over silver plating.

I have the silver plated earlier version as I much prefered the subtle silver colour rather than the more shiny chrome look of the rhodium plated and had to get the distributer here in Oz to source one for me... pit I could not at the time strech to get the gold nib (rhodium plated) rather than the stell nib version... altho the pen is a magnificent smooth writer and i definitely did not have to "break-in" the nib at all... and mine is the XF... as I said a little heavy but VERY nicely balanced in my hand... but would not be so if posted (which my version can not be)

the silver version... do not know about the rhodium plated version... does suffer considerably from scratching on the section from the edge of the cap lip when the pen is capped and un-capped... to the extent that I lined the inside edge of the cap with clear tape (a real pain getting it in just right)

over all tho... I love my Ecridor Retro... my most expensive pen still... I had to pay over AU$300... as I got it before discovering eBay where you can get them for 1/3 of what I paid... to the extent that I would love to get another as a take everywhere pen since the one I have I tend to be a little precious with it

cheers

Thanks for the udapted info. With this new information I may well have bid on it. However as I just bought a new Pelikan Blue Ocean, I think my pen budget is shot for the month. So anyone else please feel free to bid on this. Thanks for everyone that did give me info. It reflects the best of why I am here.
