I have a Century set (FP, BP, and MP) in 14kt GF with Cross written in script style on the clip. They also have smaller black end peieces than more recent sets with block lettering. Does anybody know how long ago the imprint changed?
Pingu
It must be sometime in the last 10 years.

As ,y Townsend Medalist FP that was purchased 1994, is script.

Also I notice the current block style is more spaced out than an older block style from a few years ago.

As I understand it, there is a 'code' to the scrip/block lettering and size of black top on the Cross gold range.

Large (standard) black top and block letters indicates 10K rolled gold.
Small black top and scrip lettering indicates 14K rolled gold.
Gold top with thin black line and scrip lettering indicates 18K rolled gold.
I don't recall the 'code' for the solid 18K gold models! Those I don't have.

A similar 'code' exists for the silver models.
Small black top and scrip lettering indicated solid sterling silver.
Black top with a slim silver line and block lettering indicates silver plate.

Yes, I do have a lot of Cross pens, some with proper nibs laugh.gif
