Hi,

am a proud owner of below pen and ballpoint since 2001. However, no idea what is.
The ballpoint is marked CROSS USA, the pen says CROSS Ireland.
Is it sterling silver or just steel?
Please help me identify this set. Thx

I believe you have a Cross Classic Century ballpoint (lustrous chrome) and a Classic Century fountain pen (also lustrous chrome) there. The black line at the top of the caps are higher up for the sterling silver version (my tops are black, and the tops for the black are shorter than those for the lustrous chrome pens).

For the fountain pen... it might be a Century II, since the nib looks like a Century II nib. Does the cap fit over the barrel of the pen, or is it flush with the rest of the pen?

many thanks for your help!

I think the pen is indeed a Centruy II; these have the thicker edge to the cap where the Century Classic pens have a plain edge that is flush with the body when the pen is capped.

Both are chrome.

The sterling silver pens are less harsh/bright in colour and the CROSS on the clip is in script for silver pens, not block capitals. Also, there would be hallmarks on the pen (certainly the one from Ireland, but I'm not sure about US law and precious metal marking) and the cap ends are black plastic not metal.

Cross used to make the Classic ballpoint in silver plate too, but the cap end was black with a silver band around it and CROSS was in block capitals.

Hope that helps.

The ball point is a Century Classic in crome, I have seen the crome and the silver in person and your's is definatly crome.
