Hi All:
I met Keith last night and we talked pens for 2 hours.
He also told me about this forum and here I am.
I work for the Alberta Government and I have been interested in pens since many years ago. I use them everyday and I have a small collection of pens that appeal to me.
Hope to learn more about pens here and enjoy more this great hobby of ours.

Thanks Leslie J:
My pens? Well, let me see:
Parker 21, 51, 45, 75, 61, Premier,VP, Duofold Centennial, Duofold International, Vacumatics.
Pelikan 200,600,805.
Mont Blanc 149, 146, 164, 23, Noblesse.
Sheaffer Imperial, Targa, Stylist, Balance.
Cross Radiance, Solo, Century.
Then there is my Italian beauty: Aurora Mare.
Of course there is the usual herd of Papermates, BIC and free hotel ballpens.
And Keith convinced me last night that Esterbrooks are great pens to have.
Thanks for asking me to list these. I now realize that this is in fact an addiction of mine. But I am happy to see there are so many others who share the same passion.

Welcome aboard Raymond. Good to see you have already met one of the Esterbrook 'enablers'. There are more of us around...
Visit the Esterbrook forum if you'd like to specifically discuss them. The moderator, Brian Anderson, is undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable Esterbrook collectors around.
Best regards
Gerry

Hi Raymond,
Welcome to our little nut house of pleasantly disturbed pen freaks!
Of course Keith forgot to mention to you that that Primavera is a very lonely Italian pen right now. I reckon it needs some company, preferably a Stipula of course. They go very well together, because, although both Italian and thus capable of understanding each other, they are totally different, and complement each other so well...
Anyway, you do have a very nice pen collection!
Warm regards, Wim

Hi Raymond,
welcome to FPN !
I think we now have an official race between Canadian and Dutch members.
Which country will win and get to rule FPN ? You'll now it just after that break...
Make yourself at home !
Denis.

Raymond,
Esties are TERRIBLE pens. If you have any, I should warn you that they are unsafe to dispose of. Send them ALL to me and i will dispose of them properly for you.

Welcome aboard.

Raymond,
It's good to see that you found your way here and I have to say that I enjoyed meeting you the other night... it was really the first time I have met anyone here with such well developed repair skills as well as such good taste in pens.
I think we should enjoy further meetings as not only will we be able to discuss pens but also the repair and restoration aspects and promise to give you those nib smoothing lessons and work on that Sheaffer deficiency you suffer from.
Cheers!

The "Great White North Pen Club". I am imagining 2 guys in an igloo rubbing pens together just to keep warm.
Sheaffer defficiency, huh. Those are even worse. Especially those TD's and snorks. You should send those to me too, Keith!

Thanks Keith:
Sheaffer Deficiency? Me?
I think I am suffering from Esterbrook Deficiency, Pelican Deficiency, Parker Deficiency, MontBlanc Deficiency......................... too.

Great White North Pen Club?
Sounds like a great idea. Kendall.
But Not 2 guys. I think we can round up at least a dozen guys and gals.
Not in an igloo either. More likely at a Tim Horton with hot coffee.

There are truly quite a few Canadians here.

We're trying to keep that quiet Raymond. The Dutch think they're quietly taking over the board, and we're not doing anything to disturb that fantasy...

No no no no... what you guys need is a good ol' poutine !!!!
Denis... who hasn't had one since... 1996

Ahhhh yes, fresh Poutine - a heart attack to go, I believe. For those not acquainted with this delicacy, it's a bag of fresh cut french fries, covered with fresh cheddar cheese curds, and then smothered in hot brown gravy.
Mmmmmm, and only a million calories per serving, plus a couple of hundred grams of fat. But delicious.
I can't wait for the no cal, low fat version...

Poutine... where's that barfy smiley?

If Denis has not had poutine since '76 he has probably extended his lifespan by a number of years.
And yes... let's allow the Dutch to think they are taking over...
