I've had this VS for a while.

Bought it because with its Gold filled cap and black barrel it displayed well with a similar "51" and 61.

I just had it resacked by Joel Hamilton of Inkpen.

Loaded it up with Noodler's Blue.

WOW! Nice pen!

Writes a perfect fine line. Same size and weight as the "51" but a bit of "spring" to the nib because of the open design.

And the clear feed looks so cool!

I need more.....

Nice pen indeed. I really like my VSes.

The blue one has a clear feed (1946), the others have black hard rubber feeds (1Q1947 to end). They all write very well, and they handle -- as you say -- just like a "51".

Mine even has a "Gold washed" clutch ring!
Made in the 3rd quarter 1947. (7.)
1/10th 14k Gold Filled cap.
And the barrel is stamped "V.S.", with the quotes, just as a "51".

I have one VS in my collection. It is one of only pens that I ink and use on an everyday basis.
It has few traits I like about it,it is faily large, lite weight, well balanced and the nib is springy and very smooth.
It will start the moment you put the nib on the paper even after a week or more of idling in the pen cabinet.
It isnt an expensive pen so I am not affraid to scratch it.
Its a typicle Parker, that means its a pen that was made for use and it does that excellent.
