I just recently got started in fountain pens. Ordered a few asian pens from isellpens.com that have not arrived yet. I ended up finding some pilot varsities at a local office depot. I almost instantly realized how bad most paper is for fp's. I also realized I'm glad I ordered fine nibs instead of medium....
I've been thinking of ways I could make a decent school notebook for the least amount of cash. The only store that had the hp32 was office depot....I think my cost is already 3.6 cents a page. I'm sure I could use cheaper paper and be happy. I recently purchased a cheap laserjet for school and home use...which may or may not be good for this project. I'm having a hard time with binding options; I really want 360 degree capablity. I'm not going to buy an exspensive machine for this.....do I have any options to do this myself?
I really detest the 5-star type binders...I'm not all that found of three ring binders in general. They take up too much space for my tastes. I definately need something that gives good acess to both sides of the page though.
My ideal is good paper, faint grided lines, and 360 degree binding. I'm sure I could do this for U.S. $5/notebook but it is still kinda pricey for my budget. What are your ideas? What do you do?
