I recently bought a Chopin 145 and noticed there there is a spring inside the piston converter which moves up or down when I turn the pen up or down. There is no such spring inside the Boheme which I bought about 2 years back.
Is there soemthing wrong or is it just new design?
What would be the advantages of a moving spring inside the converer?
Does it help in ink flow by knocking out air (vapour) lock!!
Any ideas.
Hi Ranvir,
Good question. Sometimes ink will just like stick to plastic and form droplets and will not flow as readily. The spring acts like a mechanical agitator to help break up the ink so that it does not cling to its sides. Some converters don't have this problem as much and don't need it (most of the time). Probably due to the diameter of the converter or the type of plasitc used.
This is just my experience in this matter.
