I own a Cross Century II pen and it was drop on the nib. The entire nib was pushed back into the pen a little ways. I was wondering if there was any way to repair it or do I just need to buy a new nib.

Best bet, almost always, is to send it to Cross for evaluation and repair.

What is the average price for cross to repair their fountain pens because I dont think that impact on the nib is covered in their warranty. The reason I am asking is I bought the pen from amazon for $50 and I dont want to pay alot to get it repaired.

Cross warrantees their pens for life. I squashed one of their mechanical pencils under the wheels of a rolling desk chair, and they replaced it with a new one. Their warranty covers pretty much everything except dropping a pen on its nib. If the nib isn't actually damaged, they should fix it for you. They charge $10 for shipping/handling.

If you follow the link for Fountain Pens, there are details at:

You can also buy a new nib from them. You didn't say just which one you had. The Cross II nibs run from $25 for stainless steel , $35 for 23Kt gold plate, $70 for 18Kt gold. Shipping seems to be around $7.95. It looks like the nib includes the whole front section, so it seems to be basically unscrew the old one and screw in a new one.

Good luck. Let us know what happens. I'm always interested in how different companies handle customer service.

When I droped it the whole gold nib section went back into the pen.

Based on the picture, it looks like you should be able to fix this yourself. If these are constructed like the Townsend pens, then the nib and feed would simply slide into the section.

Yes, that looks inexpensively fixable. I would still send it to Cross. (Actually, I would always send it to Cross regardless of the extent of the damage and let them decide what to do. I dropped my old style MP on a hard floor and broke the nose off in '78. They fixed/replaced it for postage.)
