Thought the group might like to view some pics of Wahl-Eversharp combination pens and pencils, manufactured I guess for people with very skinny pockets or those who just could not make up their mind what to write with or put differently, which end was up.

There were a few factory-made Wahl-Eversharp Combo pens. Here are some examples:

This one is a pretty late (Oxford era) Eversharp pen in a dusty velvet green color. It is more slender than the pens that follow

And here is a full size Green-Bronze pen with the screw in golf style pencil

And here is what they call in Japan the Gantza Megilla; The full set of interchangeable parts in the combo range.

Pretty cool, Huh?

This one is really cool, although I would buy one, I would probably just end up using it like a regular pen. Are Wahl combos rare? I don’t really see much of them on the bay...

They are fairly rare, mostly because people have not kept all the parts together, but there are a few that turn up ebery nw and then. David Nishimura has one for sale on his site. Hold onto your sox, though...when you see the price! Vintage Pens

Syd,
Those are some beautiful combos! I have a black GS combo that I was thrilled to have bought some years ago. I have seen a few other combos on ebay in the past but most are the Oxford Era combos like your 1st one.
