Full Version: Skrip Washable Blue--Where do I find it?

Hi all,

I'm sure this question is covered somewhere in the archives, but where can I find some Skrip washable blue ink? Pendemonium doesn't carry it, and the only place I could find it online with a Google search charges 8.00 to ship it, which seems a little steep.

I just got a new to me vintage pen which is great in so many ways, but it seems to want to skip, no matter what paper I use. Right now I have blue/black Quink in it, and it's behaving better than at first when I had black Quink in it, but it's still doing it. I've heard Skrip ink can be a cure for this. (Let me know if I'm wrong about that, or if you have any other suggestions.

I live in a very small town with almost no access to pen, ink and nice paper. However, our local office supply store (not one of the chains) carries Sheaffer's Skip Blue ink (I'm guessing it's washable - the labeling has changed since the company started making it in Slovenia so now it no longer says that). It's pretty much the only ink in my little town. And I feel your pain about the cost of shipping ink these days. When I get ink on eBay, the cost of shipping is always more than the price of the ink unless I buy a large lot. Good luck finding it.

Is "Skrip washable blue ink" different from Sheaffer Skrip blue ink? Pendemonium does carry the latter, as does Swisher Pens and other online dealers. I bought my Sheaffer Skrip Blue from an office supply store.

Thanks blueiris and kudzu,

You're right, blueiris, Pendemonium does carry Scrip blue. I was looking under "Skrip", not Sheaffer. Dur. I may look at Office Depot or something as well, but I like ordering from Pendemonium. I think it's still considered "washable" ink, even though it's no longer part of the name.

Why don't you look on ebay for it under Sheaffer or Skrip? You can score a quart bottle, usually without much of a wait for one to be listed. The prices are still low, and you'll have Washable Blue for the forseeable future. Just talk the seller into taking the cap off and putting plastic wrap over the opening before they put the cap back on for the shipping.

Good Idea, Gary,

A quart sounds a little intimidating. Maybe I'd get that much ink if I were homeschooling all the kids in a 5 mile radius--to pour in their inkwells. If I love it, I'll look for more economical sources, but for the moment it was a good excuse to buy a few things from Pendemonium.
