Full Version: What is the best ink for anti feathering?

I have a Pelikan m1000, wondering what the best ink is for feathering on normal paper. The ink on the m1000 flows so quick, I need something to slow it down. Any ideas? I also have a EF nib and currently using Mont Blanc black ink. Is noodler the best for anti feathering and bleed through? I heard the Scrip/Waterman type is the best for anti feathering, is this true?

IMO it would have to be noodlers aircorp blue black. It always puts down
a very clean line for me with no feathering.

I have always found Mont Blanc ink to be way too free flowing...
I would suggest Waterman, Diamine, and if the pen is that free flowing with a XF nib one of the Noodlers or PR inks...

Mike...I am not trying to be sophist about this...but what is "normal" paper. Could be the paper you are using "encourages" the feathering and ink has little to do with it. You might want to try varying that part of the equation first (it is the cheapest by far) before delving into the ink issue. I would think with an EF nib, feathering with any ink should not be a problem...hence the paper suggestion...

Also I think that "free flowing" and "feathering" are two different properties. You can find inks that are less freely flowing, or inks that don't feather. In my opinion, Noodler's Black is the best ink for feathering-resistance.

Noodler's black, hands down.

I've always been happy with the results I get from Noodler's Black.

Ditto ditto. The Noodler's blue-blacks (B-B, Aircorp B-B, Manhattan Blue) are also quite feather-resistant, I believe.
