Hi

My name is Andy and I live in Shetland in the UK.

I am a pauper with a pen habit!

I went to a grammar school as a kid and fountains pens were compulsory. Until relatively recently I only owned one fountain pen which was in a box somewhere. The pen was a Cross Century that I bought tax-free many years ago.

Recently I needed to be able to use different coloured pens for marking paperwork. I needed a cheap pen and some different inks. The solution came in the way of four Lamy Safaris and Noodlers Black, Purple, Red and Firefly.

After that the pens really started to flow towards to me and I now have the following: -
Cross Century
Lamy Safaris x 4
Parker 45 x 2
Parker 61
Parker 95
Waterman Hemisphere
Rotring 600
Sheaffer Touchdown
Sheaffer ???
Sheaffer ???
Waterman Ideal
Pelikan P1
Pelikan Souveran 805

There are some others, 3 or 4 perhaps, but for the life of me I can't bring them to mind.

The one that sticks out there is going to be the Souveran, which I bought because I couldn't decide which of the rest was my favourite. It was probably a close thing between the P1 and the 61. The latter was picked up in a charity shop by my better half for £5 with the Waterman Ideal thrown in free.

I feel the warmth of your welcome already so there is absolutely no need to respond unless you have an obsessive disorder!

Welcome to FPN. You do indeed have some nice pens. Isn't it good to have a wife who feeds your obsession?

As the only sane person here I feel I should correct a small tiny error.
"I feel the warmth of your welcome already so there is absolutely no need to respond unless you have an obsessive disorder!"
Should read:
"I feel the warmth of your welcome already so there is absolutely no need to respond unless you also suffer from this obsessive disorder."

Anyway, great collection. The Pelikan shows that you are a very educated consumer, as does the lack of a __ in your collection.

Welcome to FPN.......................... biggrin.gif

Hi

My name is Andy and I live in Shetland in the UK.

Welcome!

Excellent collection, Andy.

You live in a place I'm really hoping to visit someday soon. I just have to psych myself up for the long boat ride! unsure.gif

You will enjoy your time here, unless I'm much mistaken.

He comes on here expecting a welcome when he makes a statement like that wink.gif I was having a nice pleasant evening and now I'm forced to be green with envy. Oh, what the heck, anyone who likes a P61 deserves a nice friendly welcome smile.gif

Hi Andy and welcome to the FPN! biggrin.gif Half the fun of collecting fine writing instruments is trying out different brands of ink, in various colors. Then going out and purchasing more pens! cool.gif
