The latest Namiki-Pilot Vanishing Points can be had, amongst other choices, as either a solid-color body w/gold or silver trim, or as a carbonesque (black or blue). Are there any dimensional/weight differences between the solid color and carbonesque pens? Specifically, are the solid colors a fatter, heftier pen?

I've heard/read so much about the Vanishing Points and just have to have one now, but it has to be the fattest and heaviest one available.

I'm not sure about diameter or weight differences, but there is a difference in surface texture. With the carbonesque pens, you can actually feel the carbonesque texture at the surface, which gives an interesting tactile feeling.

The solid-color and carbonesque are the same size, yes.
